Charlotte Todd Rittershaus

She's here, and we're in love!  I had the best intentions to have a full blown newborn photography session with this sweet bundle, but somehow it never happened!  I have grabbed the camera when I can, and I find with time, it's getting easier to do this more often, so there will be more to come, including some great pics of Charlotte with her big sister, Finn.  If you follow MasonDee on Facebook (HERE is the link), you have already seen some of these, but here are a few of my faves from Charlotte's first week of life!

The lovely Sarants!

Sometimes some of my favorite sessions take place right in the comfort of a client's home, and this session is no exception.  The Sarants have a beautiful home that is ALL GIRL!  Dad is outnumbered in this house!  Sweet big sis loved on her baby sister during the entire shoot, and the nursery and little girl's room were both so gorgeous-  complete with lots of pink and even chandeliers!  The afternoon was especially mild for December, so the outside portion was perfect for everyone-  it couldn't have gone better...

Ruetz Family

This beautiful family is so close to my heart-  I met Amy pretty soon after we moved to Raleigh and photographed her daughter at just eight months old... we became fast friends, and with two little ones close in age, we had a lot in common.  As our girls have grown, so has our friendship, and I had the privilege of photographing them at Duke Gardens in early November to capture them as a family of four.  Sadly for me, they are moving out of the area in just a few weeks, and Raleigh will miss them!! Braving the cold

This sweet family had the bad luck of scheduling a session on what was the coldest day this fall- They were such great troopers and scrambled from place to place around the park bundled up in winter coats, and then they'd obediently brave the chilly air and take their coats off when it was time for more photos!  Nonetheless, we had a great morning, and they smiled and laughed through the entire shoot!  

Durham is cool...

In case you didn't know!  Sessions are always so much fun when a client has a vision, and the Rankins certainly had a vision!  When Ashley contacted me to come and meet her family, she knew exactly what she was looking for in her shoot.  She wanted to capture her family in the urban beauty that Durham has to offer, and she suggested just the right place in the city to do so! I had a great afternoon with this crew.  We both have two year olds.  Also, Ashley is a doula and I was about 35 weeks pregnant during the shoot-  we had lots to talk about during our time together!   I am in love with how her vision came through in the photographs, and it doesn't hurt that she has a gorgeous family.
