Anderson Family love

The Andersons are such a beautiful family!  They met me at OakView Park one November afternoon, and they rocked this session!  It could've been their adorable little girls, Miss Heidi and Miss Holly, it could've been the great wardrobe color coordination (love!), or even the homemade knit booties that talented grandmom made for baby Holly (and mom has an unbelievable talent for knitting, too)- everything fell into place, and we had so much fun!  Thanks, Jennifer and Spence!  

The Horrigans!

What a joy Miss Ella was to photograph this fall.  The Horrigan family used to live in Raleigh but moved to Northern Virginia last spring, and  I was thrilled when they contacted me and scheduled a shoot around a visit back home!  Photo tip: So many people ask me how I get toddlers to stay in front of the camera... Ella is a perfect example-  provide a chair the size of a little person, and voila!  They claim that chair as their own.  She FELL IN LOVE- we couldn't get her out of the chair for other pics... until she discovered how much fun leaf throwing was-  

And baby makes four... for Christmas!

Just a week before Christmas, the Stone family welcomed this sweet little girl. Meeting all of them during the holiday season was special for me... they also have a two year old,  little Landon, and as we prepared to meet, Blair and I got to know each other via email by swapping the statuses of our pregnancies!  The newborn shoot quickly evolved into a lifestyle shoot, which I loved... starting with a precious five day old baby and sentimental blankets, hats, and bracelets, the session shifted to big brother Landon and his lovely parents.  The Christmas spirit was all over the home, and I found myself slipping right into the fold, not wanting to leave, not wanting to put my camera down for fear of missing a sweet moment.  And yes, I shed a tear when, at the very end, Landon warmed up to his little sister and, unprompted, began to hug her and hold her hand.  

The Goulds!

When I first moved to Raleigh, I had an eight month old, and I was house bound quite a bit... I found an outlet in Stroller Strides, a workout group for women with babies that meets weekday mornings.  Colleen is one of the fabulous instructors of the class, and she made me feel immediately welcome.  We have since become friends, and she is a wonderful mother and one of the nicest people I know!  We had this session with her family in early November, and it couldn't have been a more perfect morning for it~ the blue eyes on her boys are the best...

What am amazing fall I had- full of great family sessions!  This was the first opportunity I had to meet and work with this fun group, and these boys were energetic and lively!  I had a great time chasing them and capturing them playing with each other and their parents.
